On a device that already has access, open Settings → Add a device and scan the code with this phone's camera.
Connect your Hue Bridge
Door reads your contact sensor through the Hue cloud, so it works from anywhere. Hue needs to know this app first. It takes about two minutes, once.

Sign in at the Hue developer site (or create a free account) and choose Add new Hue Remote API app.
Open developers.meethue.com -
Fill in:
- App name
- Door
- Callback URL
- Description
- Door open/closed history and alerts

Paste the Client ID and Client Secret Hue shows you, then connect. Hue asks you to sign in and allow access to your bridge.
